Houston Janitors Win Agreement

After weeks of striking, public protest and civil disobedience, Houston janitors have reached an agreement with contractors. Rallying to improve from $20 per day and no health insurance, Houston janitors were joined by janitors and SEIU staff from all over the country.  [read more]

Missouri Election Results Favor Working People

After years of Missouri politics undermining working people, SEIU Local 1 Missouri members have victories to celebrate. Hours of volunteer dedication and strength drove the passing of the minimum wage ballot initiative and supported change in the U.S. Senate. Working with community and other labor groups, members knocked on thousands of doors and called thousands of voters to improve the living conditions of hardworking Missourians. Thank you to all our members who volunteered to make changes in Missouri.
